It’s almost that time again—when the village of Metamora transforms into a summer postcard filled with music, food, art, and the unforgettable sight of hot air balloons rising into the evening sky. The Metamora Country Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival® returns August 22–23, and 2025 marks an exciting milestone: 44 years of this beloved community celebration.

Whether you’re a longtime attendee or planning your first visit, this two-day event is the perfect way to soak up everything that makes Metamora special. Stroll through the charming downtown, catch live performances, shop handcrafted goods, enjoy the small town charm, and don’t miss the spectacular balloon launches at dusk (weather permitting).

Make Metamora General Part of Your Festival Weekend

Located right in the heart of the village, Metamora General is your go-to spot during the festivities. Swing by before the festivities to grab an iced coffee or pick up a sweet treat to enjoy while you wander. Cool off during the afternoon with a cold drink, or browse our eclectic mix of antiques, home goods, and locally made finds between balloon launches.

We’ll be open all weekend to welcome both locals and visitors looking for a little charm, a little shade, and maybe a one-of-a-kind treasure (or two).

Pro Tips for the Weekend:

• Arrive early for parking and balloon-launch viewing spots

• Dress for the weather and bring a lawn chair or blanket

• Stay late—we’re open until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday night, so you can stop in before you leave town!
